As permitted by the Texas Public Information Act, in lieu of requiring each member of the governing body to complete training required by the Act, the governing body may designate someone as the Public Information Coordinator to be responsible for compliance.
The Board of Directors of Austin Transit Partnership passed a resolution April 22, 2021, to designate the agency’s general counsel to fulfill those duties. ATP’s general counsel, Brandon Carr, completed this training April 17, 2023—the day after The Austin Bulldog filed a public information request to get those records.
