As permitted by the Texas Public Information Act, in lieu of requiring each member of the governing body to complete training required by the Act, the governing body may designate someone as the Public Information Coordinator to be responsible for compliance.
The Board of Trustees of the Austin Independent School District designated the district’s superintendent to fulfill those duties. The Board of Trustees named Matias Segura as interim superintendent December 15, 2022, according to his biography on the AISD webpage.
Segura completed this training April 19, 2023—two business days after The Austin Bulldog filed a public information request to get these records.
