This is a comprehensive overview of the City of Austin’s annual budget process. It addresses the trend that while the City's sources of revenue are increasing the expenditures are projected to grow even faster. One of the recommendations made in the report is to recommend that a proposition be put on the November 6, 2018, ballot for voter approval to establish a Council Budget and Efficiency Officer that would report directly to the City Council to advise on budgetary matters.
