Democracy Austin PAC Treasurer Appointment September 25, 2012

The Democracy Austin Political Action Committee supports Propositions 1 and 2 on the November 6, 2012, ballot. Both propositions would move city council elections from May to November. Proposition 2 would also change a council member’s term from three years in length to four years; reduce a council member’s term limits from three terms to two terms; and require that elections be held in November of even-numbered years. Austin City Council Member Mike Martinez was appointed campaign treasurer September 25, 2012, and Council Member Chris Riley was appointed assistant treasurer. Both were assigned by political consultant Mark Nathan, former chief of staff for Mayor Lee Leffingwell.
